Supernutz were able to head home from Italy with substantial honors.
Stage 1 saw McLewandowski win the prologue in Catania and don the leaders jersey going into stage 2. Most surprising though was Jackson Witherspoon's 16th place. He would be an unlikely GC contender.
Stage 2 saw Jackson Witherspoon defy his 35 years and win the sprint in Siracusa over eventual tour winner Femi Tshiela. This would be Witherspoon's second win on this stage, repeating his feat of five years ago.
Stage 3 saw Witherspoon come in fifth in the bunch sprint in Messina.
Stage 4 saw Witherspoon just fail to catch Daniel Larsson at the end. An honorable second place on a hilly sprint stage which eminently suited the old man.
Overall, Witherspoon finished on the GC podium in 3rd place...while TT specialist McLewandowski finished 4th, having managed to not lose the peloton in any of the subsequent stages.
The points from this tour have now put us into Division 3 (where we have not been for a long time) and may be the highest points total ever achieved by Supernutz!

Even more impressive considering academy-only challenge. Congrats, it's well deserved success!
